Maximum stake per spin

Following a government review, the maximum stake on gaming machines will reduce to £2 per spin in betting shops in UK.

When do changes apply?

The new limit come into effect in April 2019 and will apply to gaming machines in every betting shop in England, Scotland and Wales, on all games with roulette and slots games.

Until april, the current staking limits apply, but dont forget you can continue to set your own spend time and limits to help stay in control of gambling in betting shops.

William Hill, which generates just over half its retail revenues from FOBTs, described the £2 stake limit as “unprecedented” and warned that 900 of its shops could become loss-making, potentially leading to job losses.
