North Region Coach of the year comes to Horbury!

LTA North Region Development Coach of the Year, Alice Robson, has recently started coaching at Slazenger Tennis Club based at Slazenger Sports and Social Club. Alice Robson is an LTA Accredited Plus Level 3 Coach. She has been coaching for 10 years and is a Qualified referee and Cardio Tennis coach. Alice has reached an LTA rating of 5.2 and competed for the women’s 1st and 2nd team when she was studying at Leeds Beckett University.

In 2019 Alice was awarded LTA North Region Development Coach of the Year for her work in the community and at Ackworth Tennis Club. Alice developed the club from 17 to 140 members from 2018-2020. She would love to see Slazenger Tennis Club develop in the same way and get tennis thriving in Horbury.

Alice has started a Sunday morning coaching programme at Slazenger. There is coaching available for junior players, adult beginners and intermediate players. This summer she is running Tennis For Kids course for children ages 4-8years. Tennis For Kids is an LTA introductory programme which involves 6 weeks of coaching, a free tennis racket, T-shirt and balls.
